Learning Disabilities

Learning Disabilities are a general term for neurologically based learning issues which effect the processing of information. People with processing problems often find basic learning skills such as reading, writing and math challenging. In the older child, higher level skills are also effected and the individual may face difficulty with organization, memory (both short term and long term), attention, time management and abstract reasoning. Some examples of Learning disabilities are Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), Language Processing Disorder, Non Verbal Learning Disabilities, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
